When we learn of hardships, crises and disasters which can be overwhelming to people who already struggle to make ends meet, we are ready to respond with a variety of tangible resources to help them move forward. The Mission Store Voucher program partners with HSP, Health Department, Potomac Case Management, Shepherd’s Staff and Dept. of Social Services.
Cold Weather Shelter
For the past four years, the Mission has provided overflow beds for Carroll County’s Cold Weather Shelter serving the homeless. As the need arises, up to 12 men per evening join the men in our program. Opportunities for hot showers, getting their clothes washed (or a fresh outfit), a warm breakfast and a sack lunch are provided for these guests.
Sunday Soup Kitchen
Our clients prepare and provide the food for the Sunday afternoon meal served at “The Upper Room” ministry in downtown Westminster, where each week an average of 100 souls are nourished by a hot meal.
We invite individuals, families, corporate groups, church groups and others to join us in meeting the needs of our community by volunteering at the Mission. Contact Angela Phillips at 410-8484-2222 ext. 18 to learn how you can get involved.
