Free and Reduced Meals (FaRM)
Available at all Carroll County Public Schools. A government sponsored program that provides free or low-cost meals to children in school based on federal income eligibility guidelines. You may apply at any time during the school year. To apply, complete a Household Meal Benefit Application online at www.myschoolapps.com or complete a paper application and return it to your youngest child's school. A new application must be submitted for each school year. If you have any questions, call your child’s school or the Food Services Office at 410-751-3040.
Women, Infant, and Children Program (WIC)
Available through the Carroll County Health Department, 290 S. Center St, Westminster, MD.
A government sponsored program that provides nutritious food to pregnant and postpartum women and their infants and children up to age five. Qualifying income at or below 185% of Federal Poverty Level. To apply, call 410-876-4898.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps
Available through the Carroll County Dept. of Social Services, 1232 Tech Ct, Westminster, MD.
A government sponsored program that provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of needy families so they can purchase healthy food. Qualifying income less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Apply in person or online at mymdthink.maryland.gov. If you have any questions, call 410-386-3300 and select menu option 2.
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
A government program that provides a variety of foods to eligible individuals. For fiscal year 2024 Maryland residents are eligible to receive TEFAP if they receive SNAP, medical assistance, energy assistance, TANF, unemployment, or if their household income is at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
